State of Emergency declared on April 2
Township of Severn has declared a State of Emergency as of Wednesday, April 2 at 4:30 p.m. under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act as a result of the severe impacts of the ice storm and forecasted weather. View the declaration.
Notice of Boil Water Advisory for Westshore
Due to a generator failure at the Westshore Wastewater and Water Treatment Plant, the Township of Severn has issued a boil water advisory notice for customers in the area of Westshore on April 1 at 9:30 p.m.
Residents and properties in the affected area are required to boil water before consumption until at least Saturday, April 5. This notice will be updated when the advisory is lifted.
Road closure update
Severn's Roads Team has been working 24/7 to remove debris and downed trees from local roadways. Roadways that remain closed are those that have downed powerlines and are awaiting Hydro One clearance. View the full list of road closures.

Potable water stations are available for residents who may continue to have no power and those who rely on wells.

Warming Centres now open in Washago and Coldwater
Warming Centres are now open at the Washago Community Centre (4361 Hamilton Street) and the Coldwater Community Centre (11 Michael Anne Drive). Both Warming Centres will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily until further notice. Individuals and families looking for a warm space to charge their devices, access restrooms, or get a warm drink can drop by as needed.
Due to the significant rainfall and resulting flooding in Coldwater this week, the Coldwater Wastewater Treatment Plant is currently experiencing a bypass event. Residents in Coldwater are asked to please reduce water use. View the notice.
