About the fire danger rating

Always check the fire danger rating before starting a fire. Knowing the fire danger rating is important as it helps you protect your home and community. The fire danger rating is determined using the Fire Weather Index (FWI), an internationally used method for ranking the risk of open-air fires. It considers humidity, temperature, recent rain amounts, as well as wind directions and wind speed. 

What do the ratings mean?

• Low: Low fire danger. Burning is permitted
• Moderate:

Notice of road closure for Discover Coldwater event on July 13

Notice of road closure

Coldwater Road (Mill Street to Sturgeon Bay Road) in Coldwater will be closed on Saturday, July 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the third annual Discover Coldwater event. A detour will be available via Michael Anne Drive. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Public Works.

As a reminder, the Township of Severn has launched our new E-Services portal that will allow our community to access to water and sewer and tax billings online in one secure account. Service for our previous e-billing site (E-Commerce) has been discontinued.

Township of Severn passed By-law No. 2024-40 on June 26, 2024 under Sections 17 and 26 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13, as amended.
