The Ministry of Natural Resources Aurora Midhurst Owen Sound District is advising area residents that a Flood Warning is in effect for residents in Severn and Ramara Township, in the area of the Severn and Black Rivers as well as Sparrow Lake within the Aurora Midhurst Owen Sound District until Friday, April 18, 2025.

Severn is reviewing its ward boundaries to ensure it continues to be an effective and equitable system of representation that keeps pace with population growth. 

Members of the public are invited to learn more about the project and contribute their thoughts to the preliminary ward boundary options at one of three open houses on April 22 and 23.

Township of Severn has cancelled the State of Emergency declaration as of Friday, April 11. The State of Emergency was initially declared on Wednesday, April 2, at 4:30 p.m. under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act as a result of the severe impacts of the ice storm and forecasted weather.

Two roads remain closed as of April 9 at 11:00 a.m. due to downed power lines or for scheduled road work. 

Roadways that remain closed as of April 8 at 11:00 a.m. are those that have downed power lines and are awaiting clearance from Hydro One, or are undergoing planned or scheduled road work. Once Hydro One has cleared the power lines and declared the area safe, Township staff will move in to clear the debris.

Division Road West (Wainman Line to Fairgrounds Road) is currently closed to traffic due to unsafe road conditions. As of Tuesday, April 8 at 7:00 a.m., no through traffic will be permitted due to significant digging and road removal to facilitate the replacement of a culvert. The road will remain closed until further notice.

Water will be shut off in the service area of Lakeside Drive and Bramshott Avenue on Monday, April 7, 2025,  from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., to install a new main water valve. View a full list of affected streets at: severn.ca/notices.
