Boil water advisory issued for Westshore 

Township of Severn has issued an emergency boil water notice and is requesting that Westshore residents on municipal water and wastewater stop usage as of April 1 at 10:00 p.m. until further notice.

Due to the recent ice storm and continuing hydro outage, the water and wastewater facilities for the Westshore area have been using an industrial generator to provide hydro to the site. On the evening of April 1, the Westshore generator failed from prolong use. Township staff are working on remediating the issue and hope to have water and wastewater services operational as soon as possible. A 24-hour potable water station has been setup at the Coldwater Water Supply and Distribution System at 14 Sheridan Drive, Coldwater.

Township staff are knocking door-to-door to advise affected residents of the boil water advisory and that wastewater use needs to be limited.

Residents and properties in Westshore are required to boil water before consumption. Customers in the areas under the advisory may experience low water pressure or no water.

Please avoid all unnecessary water use. If you must use your water, boil the water before drinking, cooking, or washing. Or you can use bottled water as an alternative to boiling your water. To boil your water correctly, using a clean pot, bring the water to a full, rolling boil. Let the water boil for one minute.
