Recreation is at the heart of a strong community.

We offer a variety of recreation programs throughout the year for all ages and abilities.

Propose a new program

Severn is adding more options for recreation, sports, and leisure activities.

Are you interested in teaching a new program or course in Severn that helps people get active, be creative, meet new friends, or learn something new?

We are accepting proposals for:

Children's development
Arts and cultural activities
Fitness
Other (share your innovative idea!)

To succeed, you'll need:

experience with the target group of your program
a strong dedication to excellent customer service
ability to handle stress and adjust to busy situations
current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification
valid Vulnerable Sector Check

Recreation policy

Review the recreation program policy to learn about refunds, cancellations and program transfers.

Refunds

If you would like to withdraw from a program and request a refund, you need to complete the Recreation Refund Request.

We will issue a full refund in the event that:

Township of Severn cancels or changes program details and you are no longer able to attend
you request a refund for medical reasons and provide a doctor's note

Please note

all refunds will be pro-rated from the request date and subject to a $20 fee
if a participant is withdrawn from a program by an instructor due to incompatibility, we will issue a pro-rated refund

Transfers

All programs will need to meet the following transfer guidelines:

transfers from one class or program to another is based on space and availability
transfers will be permitted up to and including the third lesson in a program

Cancellations

Every effort will be made to make up any cancelled or postponed classes. We will not issue refunds if a class is cancelled. Please note that participants advising an instructor, reception staff or not attending class is not considered notice of program cancellation.
