Township of Severn is working on developing new youth recreation programs for children ages 4 to 12 years of age. Check back often as we continue to build our program offerings for our community.

March Break Programming

On Wednesday, March 18, we’re offering two engaging art-based workshops that give youth a chance to explore their creativity, build confidence, and connect with others in a welcoming environment.

Both programs will be led by instructor Alex Long. With 15+ years of experience, Alex loves helping kids explore, create, and get hands-on with arts and crafts—messy fun guaranteed!

Workshop #1: Slime Workshop

Location: Coldwater Community Centre (11 Michael Anne Drive) | Date: Wednesday, March 18 | Time: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. | Fee: $15

Dive into a squishy, sensory adventure! In this hands-on workshop, kids ages 4 to 16 years will create their very own Under the Sea–themed slime to take home in a personalized jar. Participants will explore textures, colours, and ocean-inspired add-ins as they mix, stretch, and decorate their slime creations.

Workshop #2: Trucker Hat Workshop

Location: Coldwater Community Centre (11 Michael Anne Drive) | Date: Wednesday, March 18 | Time: 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. | Fee: $17

Get ready to create the coolest custom trucker hat! In this hands-on March Break workshop, participants ages 7 to 16 years will design and build a hat that’s totally their own. Kids will sketch and create their own custom patch, make a trendy hat chain, and choose from a variety of fun patches to decorate their hat.

About the instructor:

Alex is a passionate children’s art instructor with over 15 years of experience working with kids. With a love for arts, crafts, and all things hands-on, Alex believes creativity thrives when children are free to explore, experiment, and—most importantly—get messy.

As the owner of Tiny Fun Parties, Alex brings engaging, interactive crafting experiences to parties and workshops, making art accessible and exciting for kids of all ages. Whether painting, sculpting, or diving into mixed-media projects, Alex’s classes focus on fun, self-expression, and creative confidence.

With an energetic and encouraging approach, Alex fosters a space where young artists can unleash their imaginations, embrace the creative process, and take pride in their unique masterpieces.

Registration and payment can be completed online. Each participant requires a separate registration form.

Payment options

You can pay for program registration online with Mastercard, Visa, or Visa debit only (we do not accept credit cards other than Mastercard or Visa). We do not accept Mastercard debit.

If you choose to pay using Mastercard, Visa, or Visa debit a two percent fee will be applied to your purchase. The Township is required to pay a merchant fee (surcharge) to cover the cost of processing each credit card transaction. This fee is applied as a cost-recovery measure only.

Fall 2025: Tiny Fun Arts and Crafts program

Alternative registration options

If you cannot register online, you can also print and complete our General Registration Form and submit that in person or by mail.

In person

You can drop off a completed General Registration Form and payment at our Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn) between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, cash, debit, and cheque payments. If you choose to pay using Mastercard or Visa, a two percent fee will be applied to your bill. The Township is required to pay a merchant fee (surcharge) to cover the cost of processing each credit card transaction. This fee is applied as a cost-recovery measure to only those transactions that are paid by credit card, and not to other forms of payment.

If you arrive after hours place the form and payment in the drop box located to the left of the front doors to our office.
