  • Warming Centres now open at the Washago Community Centre and the Coldwater Community Centre

    Township of Severn has opened a second Warming Centre at the Coldwater Community Centre (11 Michael Anne Drive) in addition to the Washago Community Centre (4361 Hamilton Street). Both Warming Centres will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily until further notice. Individuals and families looking for a warm space to charge their devices (priority for medical devices), access restrooms, or a warm drink can drop by as needed.

  • Update: Status of road closures

    Township of Severn has been working around the clock since Saturday to remove debris and downed trees from local roadways. Roadways that remain closed are those that have downed powerlines and are awaiting Hydro One clearance. Once Hydro One has cleared any powerlines and declared the area safe, Township staff will move in to clear the debris.

  • Potable water stations available in Washago and Coldwater for residents

    Potable water stations are available for residents who may continue to have no power and those who rely on wells. The current locations that can be accessed by the public are the indoor taps at the Washago Community Centre (4361 Hamilton Street) and the Coldwater Water Supply and Distribution System (14 Sheridan Drive).

  • Update: Status of road closures as of April 3

    Roadways that remain closed as of April 3 at 3:00 p.m. are those that have downed powerlines and are awaiting Hydro One clearance. Once Hydro One has cleared any powerlines and declared the area safe, Township staff will move in to clear the debris.

  • Partnership with Georgian Bay offers Severn residents free parking pass for Port Severn Park

    Through a partnership agreement with the Township of Georgian Bay, a limited number of free parking passes for Port Severn Park and Beach (17 Port Severn Road North) will be available for Severn residents. The Port Severn community is shared between Severn and Georgian Bay, and for many Severn residents, Port Severn Park and Beach is the closest park for leisure activities and for children to play. 

  • First meeting of the new Economic Development Advisory Committee scheduled for March 20

    Township of Severn's first Economic Development Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 20 at 8:00 a.m. Attend in-person, watch the live stream, or subscribe to receive committee updates. 

  • Free public skating during March Break

    Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and organizations, free public skating at the Coldwater Community Centre (11 Michael Anne Drive) is being offered during March Break.

  • Help keep Severn green and growing

    In celebration of Earth Month, the Township of Severn is again participating in Pitch-In Week in April, Canada's largest environmental improvement campaign. Pitch-In Week is a great opportunity for residents, students, or community groups to get together and clean up our community. Register at: severn.ca/pitchin.

  • Coldwater Fairgrounds Master Plan Open House #2 scheduled for March 24

    Township of Severn is developing a Master Plan for the Coldwater Fairgrounds. Members of the public are invited to attend a second drop-in public open house on March 24 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Coldwater Community Centre.
