Studies initiated for the design and replacement of Woodrow Road bridge

About the project
Township of Severn has contracted R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited to complete a detailed design for the replacement of the single-lane bridge on Woodrow Road.
The work will include:
- archeological and cultural heritage review
- environmental monitoring
- engineering design services
- legal survey
- production of drawings and design specifications
The design is anticipated to be complete by winter 2024....

Transportation Master Plan
Township of Severn has completed the update to our Transportation Master Plan. The plan will serve as a road map for short-range, medium-range and long-range transportation infrastructure investments.
In summary, the TMP will guide how we:
- develop our roadways
- coordinate infrastructure improvements with land uses
- respond to future growth and demand on our transportation network

Notice of road closure for Gray Street on November 14

Notice of road closure
Gray Street (Firehall Lane to Craddock Street) will be closed on Tuesday, November 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for tree removal by Hydro One. A detour will be available via Firehall Lane to George Street to John Street.

Notice of road closure: Lock 42 bridge on November 8

Notice of road closure
Canal Road at Lock 42 - Couchiching (4375 Canal Road) will be closed on Wednesday, November 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for dewatering work by Trent Severn Waterway (TSW) Parks Canada. Large equipment including a highway tractor and crane will be present in the road and work area.
There will be no through access at the work area. A suggested detour map has been provided by TSW/Parks Canada.

Severn Fire welcomes new recruits and recognizes active firefighters for years of service

Severn, Ontario: On Wednesday, November 1 Mayor Mike Burkett, Deputy Mayor Judith Cox, and Fire Chief Tim Cranney presented service awards to Severn's volunteer firefighters (VFFs) and welcomed new VFFs to the ranks of Severn's Fire and Emergency services team.
Service awards were presented to 10 VFFs in the presence of friends, family, representatives of Council, and members of Severn Fire to honour and recognize the combined 105 years of dedicated and continuous service to the Severn community.
