Tax bill due dates

Interim property tax bills have been issued and reflect 50 per cent of your previous year’s taxes including any adjustment for supplementary taxes. 

Interim tax bills are due in two instalments:

  • March 8
  • May 8

If you haven’t received a tax bill, please contact us and we can help. Property owners are liable for property taxes and late penalties, even if you didn’t receive a tax bill.

Uhthoff Trail now open for the snowmobile season Sled Orillia (Orillia District Snowmobile Club) and the Township of Severn have announced the formal opening of the Uhthoff Trail to snowmobiles. For specific trail availability details, always consult the OFSC Interactive Trail Guide at www.ofsc.on.ca prior to accessing snowmobile trails. As grooming operations have just begun, trail users should be aware that machines will be operating around the clock, seven days a week.

Open-air burning and permits

Township of Severn’s Open-Air Burning By-law regulates the issuing of fire permits, the size of fires and materials you can burn within an open-air fire. Fire permits are required for all outdoor burning in Severn. Fire permits are valid until December 31 of the year the permit is issued. Fire permits purchased in 2023 are now expired.

The West Street extension project will provide a safer approach for road users and also allow for improved access for services in the event of an emergency. The project is funded in part by the Canada Community-Building Fund, a permanent source of federal funding for local infrastructure.
