Increased water flow at Lock 42 - Couchiching
Parks Canada advises that due to higher-than-normal water levels on Lakes Simcoe and Couchiching, the discharge valves at Lock 42 – Couchiching, near Washago, will be opened on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
This operation will immediately increase the water levels and flows between Lock 42 - Couchiching and the channel below the Severn River.

Council approves Severn's first Economic Development Strategy

Township of Severn is excited to announce the completion of our first Economic Development Strategy. Council identified the need for an economic strategy as part of their 2023 to 2026 Strategic Plan to enhance our capacity to attract and retain businesses. This project was funded in part by a $25,000 grant received from Ontario's Rural Economic Development (RED) program.

Notice of road closure
Coldwater Road (Gill Street to Community Centre Drive) will be closed on Monday, April 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree removal at 74 Coldwater Road.
A detour will be available via Gill Street to Sunset Crescent to Community Centre Drive.
