Outdoor watering ban remains in effect for Bass Lake Woodlands
Water restrictions remain in effect for Bass Lake Woodland Water Supply and Distribution system
The outdoor watering ban and restrictions to essential use is a result of drilling complications related to the reconstruction of the new wells. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Township of Severn is committed to providing the highest quality of drinking water possible to our residents. Work began in late May on the construction of two new wells for the Bass Lake Water Supply and Distribution system. We anticipate that the work will now be completed by mid-summer. The project involves decommissioning the two current wells and drilling new wells in their place. This will allow us to ensure the continued production of safe and reliable drinking water.
We ask that you continue to reduce water consumption to only essential uses until further notice. No outdoor watering is permitted.
We will notify the affected properties by hand-delivered notice when this restriction is lifted.
There should be no change to your service. However, we do apologize in advance if there are any interruptions. If you experience discolouration of water, please run your taps until the water is clear. The water will continue to be safe to drink and for use as needed, such as for laundry, hygiene, dishes, and food preparation.
If you have any questions regarding this project, please contact Tony Drouin, Superintendent of Water and Wastewater at 705-325-2315 x270 or the Director of Public Works.
