Orillia Public Library kicks off fundraising campaign

The Orillia Public Library (OPL) has announced the launch of a special Donation Drive throughout the month of June. This campaign aims to raise funds for revitalizing their Local History Room, enabling the purchase of new equipment, technology, and archival supplies essential for preserving the unique heritage of the community. Also, every dollar given this month provides an opportunity for the Library to win a $10,000 donation through the Great Canadian Giving Challenge.

“Preserving Orillia’s history and making it accessible to our community is a vital service we provide,” says Acting CEO Meagan Wilkinson.  “With the support of donations and the implementation of new technologies, we can ensure that our history is preserved for future generations.”

All donations are greatly appreciated, with any amount of $20 or more being eligible for a tax receipt and special OPL branded merchandise given for contributions of $50 or more. Donations can be made through the library’s website, in person, or by mail. The fundraising campaign runs until June 30.
