New traffic calming measures in place on Michael Anne Drive
In support of our traffic calming initiatives two new pairs of speed cushions and signage have been installed on Michael Anne Drive in Coldwater.
The speed limit on Michael Anne Drive has also been set to and posted at 40 kilometres per hour.
Traffic calming aims to prevent high-speed rushed driving by ‘calming’ motorists using visual cues and physical barriers that influence drivers to pay more attention and to change their driving behaviours. This results in safer experiences for all road users, including drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
Severn uses the following traffic calming methods at various locations at different times of the year:
- Black CAT radar device
- portable radar feedback signs
- semi-permanent radar feedback signs
- speed cushions
- flexible delineator posts
- silhouette road signs
