Notice of road closure and culvert replacement on Wainmain Line

About the project

Township of Severn will be undertaking a major culvert replacement on Wainman Line approximately 650 metres north of Division Road West (between Riverwood Lane and Carriage Court).

This culvert replacement will require a long-term road closure beginning Monday, September 30, 2024. The project is anticipated to be completed by Fall 2025.

This work will include:

deep excavation and moving of materials

replacement of the existing culvert

installation of new retaining walls and remediation of the water channel

reconstruction of the roadway including new guiderail system, catch basins, curb, and granular and asphalt road surfaces

Road access and service impacts

A full closure at the project site is required for this work. There will be no through access for vehicular traffic, cyclists, or pedestrians on Wainman Line between Riverwood Lane and Carriage Court. Access to private driveways will be maintained in the construction area. Detour signage will be in place utilizing Warminster Road, Fairgrounds Road, and Division Road West as an alternate route.

Emergency Services (Fire, Paramedics, and Police), County of Simcoe, and the Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium (SCSTC) have been advised of this closure. Waste management services and curbside collection will continue to be provided by the County of Simcoe for the length of the project in coordination with the project contractor.
