Township of Severn offers various grants and funding to community groups, not-for-profits, and charitable organizations that aim to improve the well-being and quality of life for residents of our community. The available grants are based on approved funding by Council during annual budget deliberations. The deadline to submit applications for consideration by Council this year is September 30.

Capital improvement and beautification grant
Eligible groups can apply for a capital improvement and beautification grant through if the group would like to undertake a capital project on municipal property. This could include installing new park equipment, purchasing flower baskets, or improving accessibility of a public area. If your application is successful, the Township will fund 50% of the project to a maximum of $10,000.Apply for a capital improvement and beautification grant
Festival and event grant
If you belong to a group that would like to hold a festival or special event open to all residents of Severn, you may be eligible for a grant of up to $5,000. Successful recipients will be asked to recognize the contribution of the Township on any materials or advertising. Grantees can apply each year, but funding will be reduced to repeat applicants with the intent to make the event or festival self-sustaining.Apply for a festival and event grant
General program grant
Eligible applicants can apply for up to $1,500 in funding each year. The grant funds must be used towards a program that has a community benefit, and the application must detail how the funds have been used. If your organization was the recipient of previous funding from the Township, the application should detail how those funds were spent.Apply for a general program grant
Application process
Applicants must submit a completed grant application and include any quotations or supporting materials as required. All successful applicants will be responsible for submitting a final report detailing how the funds were spent at the conclusion of the project.
The application process is competitive, and Council may receive more applications than there is available funding.
