Decks
You need a building permit in order to build a deck on your property. All decks are considered structures and require a permit regardless of the size or height off the ground. Even if the deck isn't attached to a building or structure, you still need a permit. Decks are regulated by our Zoning By-law.
Apply for a permit
You need to complete and submit a building permit application in order to build a deck on your property.
When complete, all permits should be submitted by email to the Permit Coordinator.
Fees
Building permit fees vary depending on the scope of your building or renovation project. We will calculate all building permit fees after reviewing the application. You will not be issued a building permit until you have paid all permit fees.
